The Netherlands overwhelmingly uses the US International layout rather than the largely-ignored official Dutch one. US International is standard QWERTY with dead keys for accents — meaning quote and apostrophe keys wait for a following character before committing. It is the one quirk worth knowing about when typing English at speed.
Dead keys are the specific hazard: typing an apostrophe followed by a vowel produces an accented character instead of the two you wanted, which shows up as an accuracy drop in any mode containing contractions. If that has bitten you, most systems offer a plain US layout alongside the International one. For general practice, Dutch typists' high English fluency makes Long Words a genuinely useful stretch drill.
Country is detected from your browser's timezone and language settings rather than your IP address, so it reflects how your device is configured. You can set it explicitly on your account page if it has guessed wrong.
It is standard QWERTY with dead keys: pressing apostrophe, quote, backtick or tilde waits for the next keystroke so it can compose an accented character. It is the dominant layout in the Netherlands. The catch for English is that an apostrophe before a vowel can produce an accent instead of a contraction.
By words per minute, highest first, across every game mode and test length. It lists every game played rather than one row per player, so a player who has recorded several fast runs appears more than once. Narrow it with the mode, length and time-range controls above the table.
Just play. Every completed run is recorded automatically and your country is detected from your browser settings. Sign in first if you want your run to carry your username rather than appearing as anonymous.
Every mode ranks separately — scores are only comparable within one.
